What piece of writing are you most proud of? It could be a poem you wrote in 5th grade, a research paper you put a lot of time into in middle school, or it could be story book you created for a grade school class. What made it your favorite piece? How much time did you spend on it, and with whom did you share it, if anyone?
The piece of writing I am most proud of is a poem I wrote in 8th grade. I spent hours trying to figure out words that rhymed and having the correct amount of syllables in each line of the poem. Usually I don't like poetry, but the poem I wrote took a lot of time and effort. I was proud of how much work I spent trying to make it great. I shared the poem with my parents and probably my grandparents.

The piece that I am most proud of it my Personal narrative I did on myself about how my moms Lymphangeoma Cancer changed my life. Although my moms cancer is a benign tumor but its still rare anyway, I put a lot of time in it and made it the best I could possibly make it because that was really hard to deal with. It is my favorite piece because its something I put a lot of time in and its actually something that I could right down and express the ways it had an impaact on me. I shared it with a few of the friends who new about what was going on with my mom last year right before 8th grade got over with. They didn't know everythin about it till they read it and told me that I had done a really great job on it.

The writing I am most proud of is the story I wrote about my dog that passed away. I wrote it in middle school and it took me a few days to write. It was my favorite piece because he meant a lot to me and we had a bunch of memories together. I let my family and my teacher read it.

The piece of writing that I am most proud of is my dare essay I entered in sixth grade.
It became my favorite because in doing the research I learned so much important information about drugs and alcohol. I learned how it effects people lives. I learned much while doing the research. It gave me great tools to use in life to avoid dangerous and unhealthy situations.
D.A.R.E means “Define, Assess, Respond, Evaluate” - these words empower children, giving them the ability to control a situation or an event that might otherwise seem overwhelming. It is the way I have lived my life. It made me who I am today.
I spent weeks working on this project.
In the end I won the contest. I was the first kid from Dubuque County to win in 25 years. I read my speech for kids in junior high all over Iowa.

The writing piece i am overall most proud of is probably the personal narrative i wrote freshman year. This was my favorite piece to write because i had a lot of passion in what i was writing and the topic was extremely familiar to me. i only spent a couple night on this assignment because it was really easy to right because i knew all about the topic. i shared this story with my teacher and my mom because this story was written about powerful events that occurred in her life.
